Our management, staff and volunteers do all they can to provide a family atmosphere for the children, keeping them as much a part of our community as possible. Children three to five years old attend pre-school and all children over six attend the local Primary or Secondary schools. Children need loving and consistent care, shelter and clothing, access to health services, legal aid, good nutrition, education and interaction with local community life. It is according to these criteria that we measure the impact of our services and know that we are making a positive difference in the lives of these, our children.
Working in co-operation with the Ministry of Social Development we are able to re-unite some children with their families within a few months. When appropriate, children are either adopted or placed in foster care. Others may stay with us for a number of years. Each child is an individual and their circumstances are not all the same. While the number of children fluctuates, on average there are 60 children at the Home.
